  • Welcome to Dragons Lair Performing Arts! We are excited you're joining us for the fun and fulfilling experience of learning Circus Arts.

We do have some rules and regulations to help make your time with us safe and enjoyable. Please read the following rules- we know this is the boring part, but it's gotta be done!

    First things first-
    Open Gym Policy:
Open gyms are for working on and refining movements you have been taught by a qualified instructor. Please do not attempt to learn from videos or try to copy what others are doing, and do not ask people to teach you during open gym. Students are not insured to teach each other in any studio. Please refrain from trying to "invent" tricks or drops on silks or lyra. If you have an idea bring it up with your coach. No visitors or spectators allowed at open gyms or classes- this is for everyone's safety and comfort.

    Regular Rules:

    1) Please make sure you're booking the correct level of class. We know the high level tricks look cool but you must complete the foundational movements first and learn the terminology, and acclimate your body to this new way of moving.

    2) No shoes in the studio without prior approval. Wear socks, ballet slippers, slippers, etc- but no street shoes are allowed. If you need to practice with heels please contact your coach or Angela to discuss options.

    3) Every aerial student and coach must be over a mat at all times. No exceptions.

    4) Please refrain from teaching each other during classes. Your coach is there to help you in class- please let them do their job. Offering a bit of help or advice is okay but please no full instruction.

    5) Open gyms are for practicing what you have learned in class. Please do not ask others to teach you from scratch, and please do not attempt to mimic things you see online. We know there's lots of rad stuff on Instagram but if you send these videos to your coach, they'll be more than happy to help you find the progressions to these movements. Remember, people online only post what looks best, you don't see the months of training that went into making it look "so easy".

    6) No hand/body jewelry on the equipment, no exceptions. Rings, watches, etc. must be removed before class. Check your workout clothing for zippers, buckles, buttons, etc. as well. Body jewelry must be covered by clothing/leotard.

    7) We are a queer safe environment and a racially diverse group. Any hate speech or homophobic remarks will be dealt with and removal from the studio is probable.

    8) Please do not use media from our studio to promote other studios or classes taught at other studios

    9) We do have a 24 hour cancellation policy (pretty standard for aerial and yoga studios) so please read that and do your best to only sign up for what you can make it to.

    10) No visitors/observers. Please do not bring family/friends in to "watch class" as this is strictly against our policy (also pretty common at any studio).
Only exception is fire jam nights- folks there for fire jam tend to wander in during bathroom breaks.

    11) DLPA is an adult environment, please no children in the studio without prior approval. We generally take students 18+ but there are a few exceptions- we will take students 16/17 years of age if they already have prior training from a professional coach, and also a parent/guardian who can sign the waiver form and accept liability.

    12) Pet policy: We love your pets! But we must be mindful of allergens and other pet issues- get pre-approval from your coach before bringing in your little buddy. Please make sure your pet is secure at all times and is able to remain calm whether you are in the air or on the ground. We do have a fully enclosed courtyard area for potty time and playing, please have the supplies you need to keep that area clean. Make sure you use the broom/vacuum to pick up and hair left behind and use the Swiffer to pick up anything else.

  • Cancellation Policy

We have a 12 hour cancellation policy, please do your best to reschedule or cancel prior to that window of time. You can cancel your reservation and get your credit back up to the 24 hour mark, after that the class must be rescheduled or you'll lose your credit. After the 12 hour mark, you'll lose your credit. Please contact Angela or your coach if there's an emergency (or if you have a positive Covid test).

  • Note: This is just for students to review, the actual waiver you must sign is on the Acuity booking system and you’ll be prompted to sign that the first time you book. 6). If I am under 18 years of age, I have disclosed that information to Dragons Lair Performing Arts. In addition to my signature, my parent, and/or guardian has signed and dated this waiver of liability at the bottom of this page.

7.) The tuition paid herewith to individual teacher is a contract between myself and that individual. I do not hold Dragons Lair Performing Arts responsible for refunds, class cancellations, or no-shows by said teacher.
